A $1 million pledge was made on behalf of Summers, Rufolo & Rodgers, P.C., a Chattanooga-based law firm, to support students and faculty at the University of Tennessee Winston College of Law.
The gift will support scholarships for students interested in pursuing legal careers in advocacy, as well as the Douglas A. Blaze Leadership and John K. Morgan scholarships.
This gift continues Summers, Rufolo & Rodgers, P.C.’s longstanding support of the law school and students who intend to specialize in advocacy.
“Winston Law deeply appreciates the continued support of Summers, Rufolo & Rodgers,” says Lonnie T. Brown, Jr., dean, Elvin E. Overton Distinguished Professor of Law and Haslam Family Professor. “The firm’s significant investment in our students and programs helps ensure that our advocacy tradition remains strong and continues to prepare future litigators for successful and fulfilling careers with our signature commitment to serving the public good.”
Firm spokesperson, Benjamin L. McGowan stated that “although not a Winston Law graduate myself, the lawyers with whom I work are a daily reminder to the quality of the school’s high standards of instruction and ethics. Summers, Rufolo & Rodgers is pleased to be a small part of that effort.”
