Two University of Tennessee Winston College of Law alumni have been named fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the most prestigious legal associations in North America. The honor reflects the highest standards of trial advocacy, professionalism, and service to the legal profession.

Bruce McMullen (’96) and Eugene Felton, Jr. (’95) were each inducted during the organization’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C. Fellowship in the American College of Trial Lawyers is extended by invitation only following a rigorous vetting process, and candidates must have a minimum of 15 years of trial experience. The organization recognizes lawyers who demonstrate excellence in advocacy along with a commitment to ethical conduct, civility, and the administration of justice.
McMullen is the managing shareholder of Baker Donelson’s Memphis office, where his practice focuses on complex litigation, including commercial disputes, class action defense, health care litigation, tort liability, and municipal law. He has extensive experience representing corporations, health care institutions, and governmental entities. In addition to his litigation practice, McMullen served a four-year term as chief legal officer for the City of Memphis.

Felton is a founding partner at Seay/Felton LLC Trial Lawyers. He has handled complex litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, appearing before the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Earlier in his career, Felton served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bibb County, Georgia, where he tried more than 75 cases to verdict, including serious felony matters.

McMullen and Felton’s election to the American College of Trial Lawyers underscores the impact of Winston Law alumni across the legal profession and their continued leadership in advancing justice and ethical advocacy.
