Graduate selected to serve public interest law fellowship

College of Law alumna Tomi Robb has been selected as one of 77 law school graduates from throughout the nation to serve as an Equal Justice Works fellow. Each year, the Washington, D.C.-based Equal Justice Works selects a class of public interest lawyers who have designed one-of-a-kind projects in partnership with legal services organizations.

When Tomi Robb decided to attend college, she wasn’t sure she wanted to move across the state to attend the University of Tennessee.  Her home was in Gallatin. She was the youngest child of five, the only girl in the family and the first who would attend college.

Law students successful in national health law competition

A team of University of Tennessee College of Law students has placed second in the 2021 L. Edward Bryant, Jr. National Health Law Transactional Competition. Second-year law students Matt Arent, Grace Ewell and Braxton Kinney competed against 27 teams in late March in the virtual event hosted by Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Alumnus provides gift to support faculty, promote scholarship

The University of Tennessee College of Law has received a gift from alumnus Reggie Hill (’80) that will be used to fund a promising junior faculty member.  Beginning in January, the College of Law will offer the award annually and will designate the recipient as the John Reginald Hill Faculty Scholar.

College celebrates diversity at annual scholarship gala

The College of Law honored several students and two alumni Thursday while virtually hosting the annual Julian Blackshear, Jr. Scholarship Gala. The event, coordinated by the Marilyn Yarbrough Chapter of the Black Law Student Association, is designed to celebrate diversity and honor Blackshear as one of the College of Law’s first African-American graduates.
