UT Law Class of 2025 has highest academic credentials on record

The University of Tennessee College of Law welcomed this month one of the most highly credentialed groups of first-year J.D. students in the law school’s history.  This talented and diverse cohort consists of 136 students—the largest entering class since 2013—with a median LSAT score of 160 and a median GPA of 3.

College of Law mourns the loss of Micki Fox

The College of Law extends condolences to the family and friends of Micki Fox, who for 50 years served as the business manager of the Tennessee Law Review and more recently as the continuing legal education coordinator. She died on July 28.

David Price selected to oversee College of Law financial operations

The College of Law has selected David Price as the next assistant dean for finance, administration and operations. In his position, Price will oversee the College of Law business office with overall responsibility for budgeting, human resources and facilities. Price succeeds Teresa Peterson who retired earlier this year.

Alumna selected to serve as president of Tennessee Bar Association

College of Law alumna Tasha Blakney has been elected president of the Tennessee Bar Association.  Blakney, who currently serves as the chair of the College of Law alumni council, was sworn in last week as the organization’s 142nd president.

College offers debt relief assistance to four alumnae

Four women have been named the 2022 Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, & Berkowitz, PC Loan Repayment Assistance Program award recipients by the University of Tennessee College of Law. Monique Brown-Dixon, Kameron Dawson, Cashauna Lattimore and Sarah Nwankwo will each receive $2,500.

Student leaves law enforcement to become lawyer

In the fall of 2017, Darrius Dixon sat among a class of recruits at the police academy in Greeneville, Tennessee. Dixon, who studied political science as an undergraduate, believed then that the natural progression of his studies should lead him to a career in law enforcement.
