At the University of Tennessee College of Law’s 2024 honors’ banquet, Sherley Cruz, assistant professor of law, was awarded the Tom & Elizabeth Fox Faculty Award for Service to the Bench & Bar. This award recognizes a faculty member for significant contributions to the work of national and local bar associations and the judiciary.

Established to honor Dr. L. R. Hesler, the award recognizes faculty who are excellent professors and demonstrate a genuine interest in student success.

$1 Million Pledge from Tennessee Law Firm Supports Scholarships at Tennessee Law

A $1 million pledge was made on behalf of Summers, Rufolo & Rodgers, P.C., a Chattanooga-based law firm, to support students at the University of Tennessee College of Law. The gift will support scholarships for students interested in pursuing legal careers in advocacy, as well as the Douglas A. Blaze Leadership Scholarship.

Tennessee Law Continues Trend with Highly Credentialed 1L Class

The University of Tennessee College of Law continues an upward trend, welcoming its highest credentialed class for the third consecutive year. The 133 students in the entering class bring a median GPA of 3.82 and a median LSAT of 163, the strongest numbers in the college’s history.
