Karla McKanders, associate professor of law and director of the UT Law Immigration Clinic, recently spoke to WBIR-TV about the more than two dozen United States governors asking the federal government to temporarily stop accepting refugees from Syria in light of the recent Paris attacks until a stronger vetting system can be developed and implemented.

UT Law announces $45 million fundraising goal

Celebrating its rich and transformative 125-year history, the University of Tennessee College of Law  announced its campaign to raise $45 million. The official announcement was made Friday, November 13, as part of the college’s anniversary gala. “For 125 years, our college has been a driving force in Tennessee’s legal community,” said Dean Melanie Wilson.

UT Law students support homeless veterans through Operation Stand Down

Earlier this semester, a group of UT Law students and faculty volunteered their legal services for homeless veterans as part of Operation Stand Down, an event sponsored by the grassroots, non-profit organization Knoxville Area Veterans Stand Down. The event was held September 26 at the National Guard Armory.
