Miranda Jones

Miranda Jones is a senior assistant attorney general for the Tennessee Office of the Attorney General and Reporter. She previously clerked for Judge Tu Pham in the Western District of Tennessee, and Justice Cornelia Clark of the Tennessee Supreme Court. Miranda defends state officials and agencies in complex constitutional challenges to governmental laws and actions. Her notable cases include Southeastern Synod v. Finney, a preemption challenge to Tennessee’s new human smuggling law; Bull v. Carter, a putative class-action challenge to how Tennessee administers SNAP; and McKamey v. Skrmetti, a due process challenge to investigations into the safety of an infamous haunted house in Tennessee. While primarily a trial-level litigator, she has also argued before the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Sixth Circuit.
