Fellowship Application
As part of your law school application, you will be asked if you wish to be considered for a Winston Law Fellowship. Note your interest in either the Business Law or Public Interest Law Fellowship.
No later than January 15, 2026, please submit the following items (in PDF format) to the Winston Fellows Selection Committee at WinstonFellows@utk.edu.
- Statement of Interest. Describe your interest in and commitment to pursue a career in public interest law (for Winston Public Interest Law Fellow applicants) or business law (for Winston Business Law Fellow applicants). Please discuss the experiences that have influenced this career path, your professional goals, and any additional information you would like the selection committee to consider. Please include your name and do not exceed 500 words.
- Optional Letter of Recommendation. The selection committee will review your law school application, including letters of recommendation. If you wish to submit an additional letter of recommendation in support of your Winston Fellows application, please attach it to your fellowship application.
Winston Law has prepared lawyers for careers in business law and public interest law for generations.




Those who are selected for interviews will be notified between late February and early March. Interviews will be conducted on campus in mid to late March 2026. Fellowship offers will be made within a few days of the campus visit and those selected as Winston Fellows will be expected to respond within two days of receiving their offer. Applicants therefore should gather information necessary to make a decision within that timeframe.
